Arsenal's Declan Rice expressed his joy after Jurrien Timber's goal, which was set up by his corner kick, helped secure a 2-0 victory against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in London on Wednesday. The defensive midfielder, who has been instrumental since joining Arsenal last year with 10 assists in the league, said he was driven by a fierce desire to win.

"Tonight, I just had a different energy. I just wanted to do anything for the team to win and in the second half, I would have done anything tonight to get the three points. I’m buzzing," Rice told Arsenal's official website.

Rice's confidence in his corner kicks was evident as his precise delivery led to Timber's goal, reducing the gap with league leaders Liverpool to seven points. "I think that every time I was going to take the corner, I knew it was going to be a good ball. In my head, I was just thinking about putting it in the same spot and in the end with repetition, you end up scoring goals," he explained.

Despite suffering a broken toe last month, Rice has continued to perform at a high level, contributing significantly to Arsenal's success. "This year has been my biggest output in terms of goals and assists throughout the year, so I’m really happy with that," he added.

Arsenal's second goal was also a result of a corner kick, this time by Bukayo Saka, which further solidified their victory. United coach Ruben Amorim acknowledged that the hosts' set pieces were decisive in the match.

Arsenal, currently in third place, will visit Fulham on Sunday as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title.
