Demi Moore is opening up about Bruce Willis' condition as he battles dementia. "Given the circumstances, he's in a very stable place right now," the 62-year-old actress told CNN in an interview published on Friday. "And I've mentioned this before, but I truly mean it. It's crucial for anyone dealing with this to meet them where they are, and from that place, there is so much love and joy."

Moore added that witnessing a loved one struggle with the condition is "very challenging" and "not something I would wish on anyone." The star of "The Substance" told the outlet, "There is significant loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can emerge from it."

Moore and Willis, 69, were married in 1987 and divorced in 2000. They share three daughters: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30. Willis later married Emma Heming Willis in 2009, and they have two daughters together: Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.

In March 2022, Willis' family announced he would be "stepping back" from the entertainment industry after being diagnosed with aphasia. "To Bruce's incredible supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been facing some health challenges and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities," they wrote in a joint Instagram statement at the time. "As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping back from the career that has meant so much to him."

The family's message continued: "This is a really tough time for our family and we are so grateful for your continued love, compassion, and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit and wanted to include his fans because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that."

It was later disclosed that the action star had Frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a progressive and terminal illness that impacts behavior, language, and occupational functioning.

During an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" in September, Moore shared the advice she gives her daughters as they cope with their father's health struggles. "What I tell my kids is to meet them where they are. Don't hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment," the actress said. "And from that, there is such beauty and joy and love and sweetness."

Moore explained that she makes a point to spend as much time with Willis and their family as possible. "When I'm in LA, I visit every week, and I really cherish the time we all share," she said.

In May, Rumer spoke with Fox News Digital about her dad's diagnosis. "I think, for me, through this experience, what's been so incredible is my dad is so beloved, and that's been so evident in the transparency with which we've been sharing," the actress shared. "And I think if there's any way sharing our experience brings hope — whatever comes forward as a family – that can have an effect and bring any sort of hope, comfort to someone else experiencing that, then to me, that's … everything."

During the Thanksgiving holiday, Bruce shared a heartfelt moment with his daughters, which was posted on social media.
