Demi Moore is opening up about her ex-husband Bruce Willis' health struggles. The 61-year-old actress, known for her role in 'Substance,' shared that the 69-year-old 'Die Hard' star is 'stable' in the face of his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis. Moore made these remarks during a live discussion at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival on Sunday.
"I've mentioned this before. The disease is what it is, and you need to fully accept that," Moore told HIFF Advisory Board member Alina Cho. "But for where he is now, he is stable." Moore, who shares daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with Willis, also offered advice for others in similar situations. "What I always suggest is to meet them where they are," she continued. "Holding onto the past is futile. But when you engage with them in the present, there is immense beauty and sweetness."
Moore recently visited Willis with her granddaughter, Louetta. "And being able to share whatever we have, for as long as we have it," she added. Last month, the actress disclosed on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' that 'given the circumstances, [Bruce] is in a stable place.'
Tallulah also provided an update on her father's condition during a September appearance on Today, following Hoda Kotb's mention of Tallulah's heartfelt piece for Vogue in 2023. "I have hopes for my father that I'm hesitant to let go of," Tallulah wrote in the personal essay. "I've always seen parts of his personality in me, and I believe we'd be great friends if we had more time."
Kotb admitted the sentiment moved her before asking about Willis' current state. "He's stable, which is good in this situation," Tallulah shared. "It's challenging. There are tough days, but there's so much love. It's taught me not to take any moment for granted, and I truly believe we'd be best friends. I think he's very proud of me."
Willis' family, including wife Emma Heming Willis, announced his FTD diagnosis, which can lead to communication issues, in February 2023. Earlier this month, Tallulah posted a series of throwback photos with Willis on Instagram. "Hey, I love this guy so much, and feeling emotions is tough, but I'm grateful to let them flow through me now instead of disconnecting from them! From the forever archives," she captioned the heartwarming images of the father-daughter duo.
