Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2024 is just around the corner. Arriving a bit later than usual, this Halloween celebration across the solar system promises some intriguing surprises, ranging from new masks to a slight rework of the event compared to previous years. If you're curious about the armor ornaments, developer Bungie has provided details about them as well. Here's everything you can anticipate from Festival of the Lost 2024 in Destiny 2, including start times, masks, and the available rewards. Just be prepared for some jumpscares!
Festival of the Lost 2024 will commence after the weekly Destiny 2 reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on October 29. The event will conclude with the weekly reset on November 12. This is a bit later than last year's edition, which started on October 17, but the spooky atmosphere remains the same.
Eva Levante will make her return to Festival of the Lost. As in previous years, you'll find her in the Tower. After completing a brief introductory quest and delivering some candy, you'll be ready to start earning rewards and sporting some cool masks.
If you were accustomed to farming Spectral Pages, that's now a thing of the past. Bungie has announced that players no longer need to collect these items to complete chapters of the Book of the Forgotten. Instead, you'll need Manifested Pages. These will drop from various sources while wearing a mask, including chests in Haunted Sectors. We'll have to wait until the event starts to confirm the exact sources, but it's likely related to other activities besides Haunted Sectors.
It appears the celebrations surrounding the release of Destiny 2 The Final Shape are still in full swing, as this year's Festival of the Lost introduces seven new masks. Bungie also mentioned that masks found in Haunted Sectors will have higher stats, while those from Expert Haunted Sectors will boast both high stats and 'spikey rolls'.
Here's the list of masks for Festival of the Lost 2024 (official names TBC):
Along with the removal of Spectral Pages, there are a few tweaks and additions to consider before diving into Festival of the Lost 2024. To earn Eerie Engrams, Haunted Sectors are your best bet. Keep in mind that you'll have a chance to grab more Eerie Engrams in Expert Haunted Sectors, as they now have a chance to drop an additional engram.
In terms of weapons, you can expect a familiar lineup of Festival of the Lost guns, but with updated perk pools. Bungie is keeping most details under wraps, except for a few teaser perk combinations.
Additionally, you can now purchase an Exotic class item directly from Eva, bypassing the need to complete the Dual Destiny quest in Destiny 2. This requires owning The Final Shape expansion, but note that you won't be able to attune the class items you buy from Eva unless you complete Dual Destiny. However, random rolls might just work in your favor.
Your candy-gathering efforts won't go to waste, as there are plenty of rewards to earn during Destiny 2's Halloween event. Here are all the Festival of the Lost 2024 rewards:
Enjoy this year's Festival of the Lost!
