Diablo 4 is set to receive a 'Welcome Back' booster for all players in the near future. This booster will automatically level a selected character to 50, offer players a choice between three different builds per class, and equip them with a new set of gear. Additionally, it will automatically unlock all of the Altars of Lilith for those who haven't yet collected them all. Blizzard announced this news during its latest Diablo 4 Campfire Chat, where it also discussed balance changes coming with the mid-Season 6 update and answered fan questions.

The boost will be available exclusively for characters on the game's Eternal (non-seasonal) realms. This initiative is partly due to the significant changes introduced by the Season 4 Loot Reborn update and the more recent Vessel of Hatred update, which dramatically altered the game's loot, difficulty, leveling, and progression systems. These updates inadvertently broke gear and builds for players who had been away from the game for a while. Owners of the base game will receive one free character boost, while those who own the Vessel of Hatred expansion will receive two.

Diablo community manager Adam Fletcher explained during the livestream, 'A lot of players with Season 6 jumping back in, a lot of the gear went to 'Legacy' gear and this kind of gives them a way of being able to recover some of that and immediately get back into it.' Leveling to 50 and obtaining a new set of gear is relatively quick in the current version of Diablo 4, but for players who have been procrastinating on collecting all the Altars of Lilith since launch, the boost is a significant advantage. When Diablo 4 first released, players spent hours locating each of the 160 Altars to gain Renown and, more importantly, the small stat boosts each altar provided. Blizzard later made finding Altars of Lilith account-wide, so players only needed to find them all once.

Furthermore, a free trial is on the horizon, allowing players to experience the expansion's new Spiritborn class. Blizzard mentioned that more details about the boost and free trial will be revealed in an official blog post later this week. Regarding the Spiritborn, Blizzard confirmed during the livestream that the class is currently overpowered and overplayed, with over 60% of players opting for it. However, the class won't be nerfed until Season 7 in January. In the meantime, Blizzard is enhancing the game's original five classes to balance the gameplay.

In GameSpot's Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred review, the first expansion for Blizzard's hit-ARPG was described as 'a great entry point for lapsed Diablo 4 players' that successfully rejuvenates the entire experience, making it feel fresh again.
