Are you in search of a venue to celebrate your wedding or perhaps to organize a panel discussion? In Dubai, Majalis are available in various neighborhoods. UAE nationals, official entities, and holders of Dubai decrees can reserve a majlis at no cost. Whether you're attending a funeral due to the sad passing of a loved one or a wedding, the Majlis serves as a place where community members can gather, bridge generational gaps, and address social issues.
If you're interested in booking a Majlis, here are the available locations, important points to consider, and the necessary documents. Available Majalis include Mina Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 3, Mina Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, Umm Suqeim, Mina Al Hamriyah, Al Mizhar, Al Fahidi, Al Lisaili, Al Bahar, Hatta, Al Rashidiya, and Al Khawaneej.
Required documents for booking a majlis include UAE nationals, Dubai decree holders, government agencies, and public benefit associations who can book through the Dubai Now app, Majalis Dubai app, Community Development Authority (CDA) website, or CDA email. Documents required are an electronic copy of the applicant's Emirates ID and UAE passport for social events, and an electronic copy of the speaker's valid Emirates ID for authorities' events. For official entities, booking time can range from one working day if all documents and security approvals are ready, to 5 to 10 working days if administrative approvals are needed. Other bookings may take 2 to 5 days depending on the event.
Points to note include ensuring that social events such as marriage agreements, wedding parties, and graduations do not conflict with UAE traditions and customs. The customer must be a UAE national or hold a decree issued by Dubai. Official entities must specify the type of event and provide administrative approval if available. Food must not be served, and banquets must be held. Hospitality is limited to Fawalah only.
