Disney has unveiled a plethora of new content for its popular life-sim adventure game, Dreamlight Valley, including details on the upcoming free update and the next paid DLC. The announcement was made during a 23-minute showcase hosted by Dreamlight Valley community managers Rachel Annen and Ryan Blanchard, who began by providing a redemption code for a pair of free in-game socks.
The hosts then discussed the six free updates the game has received since its release, along with its paid expansion DLC, A Rift In Time. Another free update is on the horizon, focusing on quality-of-life improvements. The Sew Delightful update will launch for free on December 4, packed with new features.
Last year, Disney introduced Jack Skellington to the game via The Pumpkin King Returns update. For the 2024 holiday season, Jack's beloved Sally will join him in the Valley, bringing her patchwork style to the game with new furniture, clothes, and customization options. Plot-wise, Sally has gotten lost outside the Valley, and players must team up with Jack to reunite with her.
As for Sally's Friendship Rewards, game manager Guillame Sauveur confirmed that the Dreamlight Valley team has created a variety of patchwork loot inspired by Sally's spooky-cute aesthetic. The Sew Delightful update also introduces Floating Islands, additional spaces parallel to the Valley where players can decorate.
The update includes a new feature players have been requesting since the game's launch: the ability to rotate items more easily. Additionally, the showcase revealed a roadmap for future free updates, including an Aladdin- and Jasmine-themed event in early 2025 and an Alice In Wonderland-themed update in Spring 2025.
Lastly, the showcase unveiled Storybook Vale (Part 1), a paid expansion that transports players to a twisted version of the titular world. The expansion features new collectible items and references to villains like Maleficent and Hades.
Creative director Josh Labelle explained that Storybook Vale will be told in two parts, with Part 1 launching on November 20 and Part 2 scheduled for Summer 2025. Players who purchase Part 1 will automatically unlock Part 2 when it launches.
Dreamlight Valley players have a wealth of new content to look forward to, but for those eager to get their hands on some Dreamlight Valley content immediately, redemption codes for free in-game loot are available.
