The black SUV, appearing to be distracted, fails to notice the white SUV approaching from the opposite direction. Unable to prevent the crash, the black SUV is struck by the white SUV in the right lane. The impact is severe enough to cause the driver to lose control, spinning the vehicle twice before it comes to a stop. The front of the car is heavily damaged from the collision.
Running a red light is a grave traffic violation, punishable by a Dh1,000 fine, 12 black points, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. In Abu Dhabi, drivers must pay Dh50,000 to retrieve their vehicles.
