The release date for a documentary exploring the life and career of renowned film director SS Rajamouli has been announced. Rajamouli, known for his blockbuster films such as Baahubali and RRR, which earned him an Oscar, is the subject of this upcoming documentary. Streaming giant Netflix revealed the launch date, stating in their announcement: "One man. Numerous blockbusters. Endless ambition. What did it take for this legendary filmmaker to reach his peak? Modern Masters: S.S. Rajamouli, coming on 2 August, only on Netflix!"
Hosted by Anupama Chopra, the documentary includes perspectives from international film icons like James Cameron, Joe Russo, and Karan Johar, along with insights from Rajamouli's close associates such as Prabhas, Jr NTR, Rana Daggubati, and Ram Charan. Netflix collaborated with Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios to produce this film, which showcases Rajamouli's impact on both Indian and global cinema through interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes clips.
Anupama Chopra, the producer and host, expressed her excitement about the project, saying, "S.S. Rajamouli is a visionary whose imagination has transformed Indian cinema. Additionally, Rajamouli recently made a cameo appearance in Nag Ashwin's epic film Kalki 2898 AD, which is currently showing in UAE cinemas.
