Nintendo continues to delve into developer Rare's extensive back catalog for Switch Online, with Donkey Kong Land being the latest addition to the subscription service. Originally launched in 1995, this Game Boy game is now available on Switch Online. Released a year after Donkey Kong Country on SNES, Donkey Kong Land aimed to replicate the same side-scrolling experience on the less-powerful Game Boy. This handheld title even boasts a familiar soundtrack, which can be heard in the video below.

Donkey Kong Land marks the first Game Boy title featuring Nintendo's iconic ape. Another classic for the platform is Donkey Kong '94, which has yet to be added to Switch Online. Fans are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of Donkey Kong 64 on the subscription service. Many other Rare games have made their way to Switch Online this year. In February, five classic Rare games, including Killer Instinct and R.C. Pro-Am, were added to the service. Additionally, Blast Corps landed on Switch Online + Expansion Pack, the premium tier for the subscription service.

Last month, Banjo-Tooie was added to Switch Online + Expansion Pack, nearly three years after the original Nintendo 64 game debuted on the service. Meanwhile, the Donkey Kong Country trilogy is already available on Switch Online. In January, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is scheduled to hit Switch.
