Jumeirah Golf Estates recently hosted the DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am Challenge Grand Final, a qualifying event for the Rolex Pro-Am, which serves as the prelude to the DP World Tour Championship, the culminating event of the 2024 Race to Dubai.

Golfers from various UAE golf clubs earned their spots in this prestigious event through their respective Member’s Monthly Medals and other qualifying tournaments. The top male, female, and junior golfers from the Grand Final will advance to compete in the Rolex Pro-Am.

Antonio Perez emerged victorious in the Junior Division, securing 41 Stableford points, equivalent to a six-over-par gross score of 78. The Men’s Division saw a fierce competition, with Jumeirah Golf Estates’ member, Russell Wilson, impressively scoring 40 Stableford points. Despite a challenging round where he dropped four shots, Wilson managed to recover, accumulating eight net birdies to qualify for the Rolex Pro-Am.

Suyeon Ko dominated the Ladies’ Division with an outstanding 43 Stableford points, securing her place in the Rolex Pro-Am. Freddie Schmeisser, Head of Championships & Business Development Director Middle East at DP World Tour, expressed his excitement during the Prize Presentation: “We are thrilled to offer spots in the esteemed Rolex Pro-Am through this Grand Final. The Rolex Pro-Am will be an unforgettable experience for the three winners of this event.”

Schmeisser also extended gratitude to the team at Jumeirah Golf Estates for hosting the event and ensuring a memorable day for all participants. He praised the Fire course as the perfect venue and acknowledged the JGE agronomy team for their relentless efforts in maintaining the pristine condition of the golf courses at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The Rolex Pro-Am is scheduled for November 12th, taking place over the Earth course, just two days before the $10 million DP World Tour Championship. This event will feature the top 50 players on the Race to Dubai, following the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links Abu Dhabi.
