Australia's Dr. Brett Robinson has been appointed as the new chair of World Rugby. The 54-year-old, succeeding Sir Bill Beaumont after the conclusion of the former England captain's eight-year tenure, marks the first time a chair from the southern hemisphere has led the international federation.

Robinson emerged victorious in two rounds of voting, defeating France's Abdelatif Benazzi and Italy's Andrea Rinaldo. "It is a profound privilege and honor to be elected World Rugby chair by my council colleagues," Robinson stated. "Throughout this process, I have engaged in numerous discussions with colleagues worldwide, and I am encouraged by our collective aspiration to further enhance the vibrancy of our sport."

Robinson's term will span four years, with the possibility of seeking re-election in 2028.
