In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players are in for a treat with a Mass Effect Easter egg hidden within the game. This Easter egg involves Bellara, one of Rook's companions. Spoilers for Dragon Age: The Veilguard ahead.

Early in the game, Bellara joins the player's group and can be found repairing the Eluvian mirror at the home base. If players repeatedly attempt to speak with her, she eventually responds with, "Sorry Rook. I'm just in the middle of some calibrations." This line is a direct nod to Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect 2, where he similarly tells protagonist Shepard, "Can it wait a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations."

The reference is fitting, as both Bellara and Garrus serve as the technical experts in their respective teams. BioWare, the developer behind both series, is currently working on the next installment of Mass Effect. Announced in 2020, the release date remains uncertain.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, marking BioWare's most successful launch on Steam to date. In GameSpot's review of The Veilguard, it was noted, "The Veilguard feels like BioWare making a good BioWare game again, and that in itself makes me extraordinarily happy."
