After a decade of anticipation, Dragon Age: The Veilguard made its debut last week, garnering respectable reviews, including a 7/10 score in our own Dragon Age: The Veilguard review.
The primary criticism was the presence of unintended bugs and glitches, although the game generally ran smoothly. BioWare swiftly responded by announcing the first patch, set to release later this week, aimed at addressing some of the more significant issues.
On social media, BioWare outlined some of the planned fixes without delving into specifics beyond crashes, cosmetic issues, and companion problems. 'We have our first patch for Dragon Age: The Veilguard coming later this week to all platforms,' BioWare stated. 'This patch will include some bug fixes, minor balance changes, and some crash mitigations.'
For instance, BioWare addressed an issue where DLSS options would appear 'grayed-out' on 40-series Nvidia GPUs. If you've been eager to utilize Nvidia's AI upscaling for improved resolution but encountered issues, this fix will resolve that.
Another major issue involved one of your companions having their skill points reset unexpectedly. BioWare will rectify this, so you won't need to rework your skills repeatedly.
Lastly, and perhaps most frustratingly, some player-characters experienced a change in their customizations during the game's ending. While this is being fixed, if you've already completed the game and noticed your character looked different at the end, this won't occur on your next playthrough.
