Dragon Age: The Veilguard has made a significant impact as BioWare's most successful launch on Steam, securing the top position on Steam's sales charts and surpassing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. According to SteamDB, the game reached a peak of 70,414 concurrent players within its first 24 hours, surpassing BioWare's previous record of 59,817 concurrent players set by Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.

BioWare invested substantial effort to ensure the PC version of Dragon Age: The Veilguard met high standards on Steam. The game is verified on Steam Deck and successfully passes Valve's rigorous internal tests for inputs, display, performance, and seamlessness. A detailed analysis by Digital Foundry confirmed that the PC version is a well-executed port, a rarity for major game releases on PC at launch.

Notably, players do not need to use the EA App (the successor to Origin) to play the game on PC. This marks a significant change in EA's launch strategy, as previous EA games required the use of the EA App. However, players must agree to a third-party EULA, as indicated on the Steam page.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is now available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. In GameSpot's review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it was noted, "The Veilguard feels like BioWare making a good BioWare game again, and that in itself makes me extraordinarily happy."
