The 142.1-metre superyacht Dragonfly, formerly known as Project Ali Baba, has been handed over to her owner. As reported by BOATPro, she has left Lürssen's shipyard in Bremen, Germany and is currently sailing towards Portsmouth in the UK.
Despite her elusive nature, more images were released as the construction advanced. The latest batch highlights a grey profile with an elongated bow and striking exterior lines that stretch across four decks, including two helipads.
Stylistically, she bears a resemblance to the 85.2-metre Lürssen yacht Pacific, which also boasts an exterior design by German Frers. The interiors are the work of Nauta Design.
The new build project was first spotted in May 2022 when it was moved out of the construction shed in two sections. According to BOATPro, Project Ali Baba is one of the 10 superyachts currently under construction at Lürssen.
The superyacht made headlines last December after a technical issue with the dock gate at Lürssen's Bremen facilities caused the yacht's bow to collide with the dock curtain. This sighting comes after the delivery of the 82-metre Haven earlier this summer.
