Today, 22 Chief AI Officers were approved for appointment across various Dubai government entities, as announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, on X. This initiative is aligned with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI and aims to integrate AI into government operations. It marks the initial phase towards realizing Dubai's future governance vision. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the rapid advancement of AI, along with its tools and applications, is crucial for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision of making Dubai a global hub for AI development and deployment. These AI officers, representing entities like RTA, Dubai Police, and DHA, will aid in transforming Dubai's approach to innovative solutions. The full list of represented entities includes Community Development Authority, Dubai Government Human Resources Department, Dubai Customs, and others. This strategic move was first unveiled by Sheikh Hamdan in April with the launch of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence. Following this, the next phase involves a comprehensive program to attract and facilitate data centers and introduce a new AI company license.
