Authorities in Dubai have decided to drop the charges of attempted suicide against Irish national Tori Towey. This decision follows the closure of an assault case involving Tori and her husband, who is a South African national. The case, which dates back to May 2024, initially saw both parties filing assault charges against each other. However, they have now reached a mutual agreement and have withdrawn their respective complaints. The Dubai Public Prosecution has decided to drop the charges of attempted suicide, stating that this decision was made "considering the circumstances of the case and to enable her to return to normal life".
