Dubai has elevated its respect for senior citizens to unprecedented levels with a new initiative. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority is now offering helicopter rides to elderly Emiratis, allowing them to experience Dubai's iconic landmarks from the skies. This initiative, aptly named 'Autumn with Dubai Civil Aviation Authority,' was launched on International Day for Older Persons. Collaborating with Air Chateau and the Community Development Authority, the program aims to provide a unique and memorable experience for the senior citizens. A video released by DCAA captures the excitement of the participants who were unaware of the surprise awaiting them. One participant exclaimed, “It’s beautiful, nothing can be more beautiful.” Another woman shared, “I feel so good, I want to fly.”
Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, elaborated on the initiative, stating, “It is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who places active participation of senior citizens in various community activities at the heart of the priorities of all social and family initiatives launched by Dubai.” The helicopter rides commence from Al Barsha Community Center.
