Four individuals involved in a scam were handed three-month jail terms in Dubai for promoting a fictitious part-time job on WhatsApp and subsequently pilfering funds from a victim, according to authorities on Wednesday.
An examination carried out by the Dubai Prosecution revealed that the group employed the fraudulent job advertisement to seize the victim's interest. They persuaded her to transfer money, assuring her that the sum would be doubled, the authorities stated.
Dubai's Misdemeanour Court convicted the group of fraud and imposed a sentence of incarceration, to be followed by deportation.
