Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club emerged victorious in the 2023-2024 Ladies Inter-Club Challenge, securing a thrilling win at Arabian Ranches Golf Club. The competition, featuring an individual Stableford format over 18 holes, also included a team event, adding an extra layer of excitement to the season-long challenge.
The 2023-24 edition witnessed intense competition, with nine teams from across the UAE vying for the title. The field was divided into three Mini-Leagues, each comprising three club teams, culminating in a highly anticipated final at Arabian Ranches. Each team consisted of 10 players, with the best eight individual Stableford scores counting towards the team score, calculated at 95% of Course Handicap.
Originally scheduled for April, the final was postponed due to biblical storms, concluding the 2023-24 Ladies’ ICC seven months later. In the rescheduled final, points were multiplied by 1.5 to determine the team score. Dubai Creek dominated the season, accumulating 823 points and adding 396 more in the finals to secure a comfortable win. Jumeirah Golf Estates emerged as the winning team on the day with 406.5 points.
Pia Fleury, the UAE co-ordinator for this ladies’ golf community initiative, expressed gratitude to Arabian Ranches Golf Club for hosting and emphasized the need for support from golf clubs to sustain these initiatives. She also highlighted the growth of a genuine ladies' golf community through the ICC and expressed optimism for future sponsorship to elevate the event to new heights.
The Ladies’ ICC is supported by the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF). The final results showed Dubai Creek leading with 1219 points, followed by Jumeirah Golf Estates with 1169.5 points and Emirates Golf Club with 1148 points.
