Drones and AI (artificial intelligence) are now being employed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) to oversee construction activities at residential and housing project sites in Dubai, ensuring adherence to work plans, timelines, and safety standards, as announced on Saturday.
The MBRHE highlighted that the application of drone technology extends beyond monitoring, encompassing preventive maintenance of housing and assets. Drones can efficiently and effectively detect damages imperceptible to the naked eye, such as water leaks and insulation faults.
By leveraging advanced, high-resolution imaging technologies and AI-based image and data analysis, drones offer precise recommendations, conserving time and effort while guaranteeing a safe and sustainable living environment, according to the MBRHE.
Abdullah Al Shehi, the director of Engineering Projects Department at MBRHE, expressed confidence that this technology will aid in achieving their strategic objectives, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving the housing system in the emirate.
The authority is collaborating with leading global companies to ensure the provision of drone and AI solutions that meet the highest international standards. Additionally, MBRHE has trained in-house operators to proficiently use drone technologies and analyze project data.
As a government entity responsible for providing housing and housing-related services to UAE nationals in Dubai, MBRHE's services include the allocation of residential plots, supply of government houses, and maintenance and extension of existing properties. It also provides housing loans in accordance with government policy and criteria.
