The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is set to commence on Saturday, October 28, and will continue until November 24. This year marks the eighth iteration of the UAE's month-long fitness initiative, which urges both residents and tourists of all ages to engage in 30 minutes of physical activity daily for 30 days. The 2022 edition attracted over 2.4 million participants throughout the 30-day period, featuring more than 35,000 cyclists in Dubai Ride and over 226,000 runners in Dubai Run. Similar to last year, the event lineup will include a variety of free sports and community-driven fitness activities, along with major events such as Dubai Ride and Dubai Run, where attendees can cycle or jog past Dubai's renowned landmarks on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Initiated in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, DFC is designed to promote regular physical exercise, with positive effects that extend beyond the event's duration. Residents are encouraged to note the following dates: Dubai Stand-Up Paddle on Saturday, November 2; Dubai Ride on Sunday, November 10; and the culminating event, Dubai Run, on Sunday, November 24. Further details about this year's events, activities, and registration information will be disclosed in the upcoming weeks. For updates and to stay motivated, residents and visitors can visit dubaifitnesschallenge.com and register before the launch on October 26.
