The recent conclusion of the third international conference on “Advances in Emergency Medicine and Trauma” in Dubai marked a significant event in the healthcare sector. Organised jointly by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine, the conference was hosted by Fakeeh University Hospital. It attracted a diverse assembly of scientists, doctors, and emergency medicine specialists from the UAE and abroad.
The conference began with a keynote address by Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority. He underscored the critical importance of emergency medicine, its foundational role in healthcare systems, and the urgent need for continuous advancements, especially given the rapid transformations in global healthcare. Al Ketbi emphasized that emergency and trauma medicine is a top priority in the DHA’s strategic framework, aiming to enhance the quality of emergency systems and protocols in medical facilities. The DHA supports hospitals and specialist centres in modernizing their infrastructure, equipment, and technology, while also leveraging the extensive expertise and talent within the healthcare sector, particularly in this specialized field.
The two-day international conference brought together healthcare professionals and researchers worldwide to discuss the latest innovations in emergency medicine and trauma care. The event aimed to catalyze a qualitative shift in emergency medicine methodologies and frameworks, aligning with Dubai’s reputation as a leading healthcare hub and a model of readiness and responsiveness to medical emergencies.
