Dubai International (DXB), the world's busiest international airport, announced on Wednesday that it will accommodate 3.43 million passengers over the next 13 days as residents return from their summer vacations. "With an average daily traffic of 264,000, DXB is set to manage over half a million passengers between August 31 and September 1, with September 1 projected to be the busiest day of the peak period, handling 291,000 passengers. Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines, regulatory authorities, and service providers to ensure a smooth travel experience for everyone," Dubai Airports stated.
Earlier this month, Dubai International (DXB) revealed that it welcomed a record 44.9 million passengers in the first half of this year, marking an 8% increase compared to the previous year. This achievement solidifies DXB's status as a preferred global gateway, enhanced by robust connections with major international markets and reinforcing its pivotal role in driving Dubai's economic expansion.
Dubai attracted 9.31 million international visitors in the first half of 2024, showcasing its growing appeal as a global hub for talent, businesses, and investors. These figures, recently disclosed by Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, closely align with the growth of Dubai's GDP, which stood at Dh115 billion in the first quarter of 2024, a 3.2% increase from the prior year.
