Struggling to locate your vehicle in the expansive parking lots of Dubai International (DXB) Airport? This inconvenience is set to become a thing of the past. Dubai Airports announced on Wednesday plans to introduce new enhancements in the upcoming months, including colour-coded car parks to facilitate easier navigation.
"In line with Dubai Airports' ongoing commitment to elevate the guest experience, emphasizing operational excellence and seamless travel, new enhancements will be implemented in the coming months. These enhancements include colour-coded car parks designed to simplify navigation," stated a release on Wednesday.
Every day, hundreds of thousands of residents and tourists pass through the three terminals of Dubai International Airport, with thousands more visiting to see off or welcome friends and family. The introduction of these colour-coded car parks aims to streamline navigation for drivers utilizing DXB's parking facilities.
According to information from Dubai International's website, parking fees at Terminal 1 vary from Dh15 per hour to Dh125 daily, with similar rates at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. An additional day of parking incurs a charge of Dh100. Notably, flydubai offers passengers the option to reserve their parking spot at Terminal 2 in advance, thereby avoiding the stress of finding a spot upon arrival.
"You have the convenience to pre-book a parking space at Dubai International Airport, Terminal 2, for both short and long durations via flydubai, starting at just Dh50 per day. Simply use the QR code provided in your booking confirmation to access the chosen car park (Arrival A1 or Departure A2)," the airline detailed on its website.
Dubai International (DXB) reported a record 44.9 million passengers in the first half of this year, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. The airport handled 216,000 flight operations, a 7.2% rise compared to the same period last year, with January being the busiest month with 7.9 million visitors. DXB's real-time monitoring system has been instrumental in preventing queue build-ups at various points, ensuring a smoother and more efficient journey for all passengers.
In the first half of 2024, 98% of passengers experienced wait times of less than 10 minutes at departure passport control, with the same percentage waiting less than 15 minutes at arrival control. Additionally, 95% of passengers at departure security screening waited less than three minutes. DXB also plans to introduce a new signature scent in Al Majlis to enhance the welcoming ambiance at the VIP facility.
