Dubai has introduced a fresh initiative to commemorate significant national events in the UAE, as announced by the government on Wednesday. This campaign, in collaboration with 16 governmental, semi-governmental, and private sector organizations, will align with UAE Flag Day and the 53rd Eid Al Etihad (UAE National Day) festivities. Kicking off on November 3, the campaign will extend until December 3.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), emphasized that the campaign aims to pay tribute to the UAE's founding leaders, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Here’s a glimpse of what residents can anticipate during this period:

Fireworks: On December 2 and 3, dazzling fireworks will illuminate the skies at venues such as JBR Beach, Al Seef, Hatta, and Dubai Festival City Mall. Residents can also visit Hatta to witness fireworks, traditional folk dances, and musical performances. Fireworks will be a daily spectacle at Dubai's Global Village throughout the campaign.

Seasonal Markets: Several seasonal markets, including Beach Canteen, Ripe Market, and Winter Wonderland, will be part of the celebrations, offering Emirati-themed activities, local cuisine, and shopping experiences.

A ‘Union Day Parade’, in partnership with Watani Al Emarat, will take place at City Walk on December 2. This vibrant parade will showcase Emirati culture through traditional dances and performances, creating a festive atmosphere for families and visitors.

Museums: The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will organize special events at key cultural sites, such as the Hatta Heritage Village, encouraging visitors to delve into the region's rich history and culture. The Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood will feature diverse activities reflecting Dubai’s cultural heritage.

At Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest open-air heritage museum, visitors will experience a comprehensive cultural journey connecting the past with the present. The museum will revitalize heritage houses through theatrical and interactive performances, highlighting life in old Dubai. The celebrations will include both traditional and innovative events that underscore the UAE’s developmental journey.

The Etihad Museum, a pivotal national landmark, will host special events focusing on the history of the UAE's Union. The museum will feature cultural events, including exhibitions and interactive displays, narrating the story of the UAE's founding.

Expo City Dubai: Expo City Dubai will present a musical concert titled ‘Union Symphony’, performed by the Firdaus Orchestra, as part of the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations. The orchestra will perform a selection of Emirati national songs in two free public performances. The iconic Al Wasl Plaza at Expo City will be adorned with UAE flags and traditional Emirati decor, with cultural shows performed by traditional Emirati performers.

Al Wasl Plaza will also host the Emirati Harvest Market, showcasing locally grown agricultural and food products.

Dubai Frame and Parks: Dubai Municipality will illuminate major parks, the Dubai Frame, Dubai Safari Park, and the Clock Tower roundabout with vibrant lights for Eid Al Etihad.

Dubai Airports: A dedicated space at Dubai Airports will be designated for official Eid Al Etihad celebrations, with a maritime heritage theme. Visitors arriving at Dubai’s entry points will be greeted with traditional national songs, emphasizing the unique spirit of these celebrations. A variety of Emirati cultural events and traditional performances will also be hosted, highlighting authentic Emirati customs, values, and identity.
