A new initiative in Dubai is set to provide a series of grants aimed at bolstering the city's cultural and arts sectors. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), unveiled the ‘Dubai Cultural Grant’ programme on Sunday. The initiative is designed to distribute grants totaling Dh180 million over the next ten years. These funds are intended to support and nurture local talent across various cultural and creative fields, such as visual and fine arts, design, performing arts, culinary arts, public art, digital arts, literature, heritage, gaming, museology, and professional development.

Beginning this year, the programme will offer 18 distinct grants, each comprising a package worth Dh12 million. The announcement was made at an event hosted by Dubai Culture at Etihad Museum, attended by several officials, partners, and creative talents, including Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai. The programme aims to stimulate the creative economy by offering opportunities to artists, writers, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs. It also promotes innovation and strategic collaborations, allowing creatives to realize their visions while contributing to the local economy through projects that offer enduring and tangible benefits.

The programme's visual identity was developed by Tamakan Studio, highlighting a diverse range of grants tailored to empower Emirati talent. One notable initiative, the Emirati Creatives in Venice Programme, facilitates a cultural exchange for ten Emirati artists in Venice, where they can explore the Venice Biennale and engage with global artisans and artists through various workshops and discussions.
