Starting July 1, 2024, parking will no longer be free in certain areas of Dubai Mall. The maximum tariff could reach up to Dh1,000 for a 24-hour parking period. However, some parking areas will remain free, and specific individuals are entirely exempt from paying parking fees. The barrier-free system, facilitating smooth entry and exit at the car park, will be managed by Salik Company PJSC, Dubai's exclusive toll gate operator.
Paid parking areas include Fashion, Grand, and Cinema zones. Zabeel and Fountain View parking areas remain free. People of Determination are exempt from parking fees but must apply for exemption through Salik channels. Vehicles exempt from Salik fees, including those of People of Determination, police, ambulances, and civil defence, are also exempt from Dubai Mall parking fees. Senior citizens and residents currently do not qualify for exemption.
Parking fees are calculated based on the number of hours parked after the free hours (4 hours on weekdays, 6 hours on weekends). Fees are deducted from your Salik account upon exiting the parking facilities. Parking rates vary from Dh20 for the first hour after free hours to a maximum of Dh1,000 for 24 hours.
Upon entry, a camera captures the vehicle's plate number, and the Salik system records the entry time. Upon exit, the system calculates the parking fees based on the elapsed time and deducts it from the Salik account. To use the parking facilities, an activated Salik tag and account are mandatory.
Grace periods for free parking are 4 hours on weekdays and 6 hours on weekends. International plates or tourist-owned vehicles must also have an activated Salik tag and account. If your Salik account lacks sufficient balance, pending parking fees will be deducted once recharged. No SMS notifications are provided before the end of free hours. Disputes regarding parking fees can be raised via email to customerservice@salik.ae or by contacting 800-Salik.
Salik tags can be purchased online or through various outlets in the UAE. Currently, Salik can only be used to pay for Dubai Mall parking fees. Parking fees are directly deducted from the Salik account, and a consolidated report includes both toll and parking transactions.
