Residents and visitors can now capture images of damaged roads, fallen trees, or any other obstacles and share them via the Dubai Now platform to notify the relevant authorities, thanks to a new feature introduced on the app. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), Digital Dubai has launched Madinati, which streamlines the reporting of unwanted objects on roads or other areas across the city by enabling users to take a photo and send it to the authorities.

"Madinati is a collaborative initiative between Digital Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Dubai Municipality, aimed at providing a seamless experience for city residents. For instance, if they encounter a damaged road, a fallen tree, or any other unwanted object, they can snap a picture, and the AI system will identify it and route the report to either the RTA or Dubai Municipality," explained Matar Al Hemeiri, CEO of Digital Dubai, in an interview with Khaleej Times.
He further clarified that there would be no human intervention from the departments. "The only requirement from the person sharing the content is to confirm the location, although the system can also detect the location," he added.
Madinati is one of 280 services from over 45 entities, both private and government, available on the Dubai Now super app. "We continually explore ways to harness emerging technology to enhance the experience for both residents and visitors," Al Hemeiri noted.
Additionally, to better manage talent and employees within government departments, Digital Dubai is supporting new solutions that will accelerate the recruitment and training processes for public sector entities.
