Authorities announced on Wednesday that all domestic worker visa services, including application, renewal, and cancellation of residence permits, can now be accessed through the Dubai Now app. The 'Dubai Now' smart app has become the exclusive platform for issuing, renewing, and canceling domestic workers' residence permits. This initiative aims to streamline the process and drastically reduce the time required for such transactions.
The unified platform was developed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA). With the introduction of the 'Domestic Worker Package', the number of service channels has been reduced from four to one, and the steps needed to complete the process have been cut from 12 to four. The number of visits to service centers has been reduced from eight to two, and the processing time has been shortened from 30 to five days. Additionally, the number of required documents has been reduced from 10 to four, resulting in a cost savings of Dh400 per transaction.
Here's how the service works for those applying for a domestic worker's residency: Customers can access these residency services through the 'Dubai Now' app. Users must fill out a unified service package form, input the domestic worker's details, and submit identity and passport information. The employment contract is signed electronically within the app. The worker will need to undergo a medical examination, and the results will be sent through the app. Finally, the worker's ID and residency permits will be issued.
