As the peak travel season kicks off in Dubai on Friday, December 13, Dubai Police have taken to X to advise drivers to steer clear of roads leading to or from the airport. Authorities announced on Thursday that over 5.2 million passengers are expected to pass through Dubai International Airport (DXB) between December 13 and December 31.
In a public advisory shared on X, Dubai Police urged motorists, "Drivers using the roads to Dubai Airports and Airport Road should consider alternative routes to help alleviate traffic congestion and ensure a smoother experience for both departing and arriving passengers."
December 20 is anticipated to be the busiest day at the airport, with approximately 296,000 passengers expected. The weekend spanning December 20 to 22 will also witness high traffic, with an estimated 880,000 passengers traveling through DXB.
On average, around 274,000 people are expected to fly in and out of DXB daily during the festive travel period.
