The drones buzzing above Dubai's skies are set to aid the police in multiple ways. These sophisticated systems, known as 'Drone Box', will enable the authorities to expedite access to accident scenes, decrease traffic congestion, and shorten response times for criminal incidents by providing the command center with vital data.
The drone system is integral to various security and police operations, including involvement in security and traffic patrols across Dubai's streets and areas, rescue missions, particularly in remote locations, crisis and disaster management, early detection of hazards, traffic surveillance, and supplying the command and control center with essential information.
The 'Drone Box' system features multiple intelligent platforms throughout the emirate. These drones are launched from these platforms upon receiving reports, substantially cutting down response times for major accidents and emergencies, according to Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Director of the General Department of Operations at Dubai Police, in a recent press release.
Dubai Police is among the first law enforcement agencies globally to implement and launch such a smart and advanced drone system for police operations. Brigadier Turki emphasized that the drones visible in various parts of the emirate are part of continuous police operations aimed at boosting security.
Dubai Police continues to lead in innovation with its smart and advanced drone system, supporting police and security operations, as stated by Brigadier Turki. This strategic initiative utilizes cutting-edge security technologies to proactively ensure community safety and fight crime.
Brigadier Turki affirmed that these drones support police officers in serving the community according to the highest practices and standards, safeguarding privacy while upholding Dubai's status as one of the world's safest cities.
