Dubai residents utilizing Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) services will soon have the option to pay in instalments starting next week. The RTA has partnered with the shopping and financial services app Tabby to facilitate this instalment payment option for customers using RTA services at smart kiosks, according to Meera AlShaikh, Director of Digital Services at Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai, in an interview with Khaleej Times.
“Customers will be able to select an easy instalment plan offered by Tabby on smart RTA kiosks when making payments for digital services provided by the RTA, such as vehicle licence renewal, driver licence renewal, and fine payments. This initiative aims to make RTA payments more accessible to all customers,” AlShaikh explained.
RTA’s smart kiosks offer a variety of services including fine payment, vehicle and driving licence renewal, certificate issuance, seasonal parking card, and more. RTA is among the first Dubai entities to introduce an instalment plan for its customers. Currently, the authority operates 30 smart kiosks across the emirate.
“Through RTA’s Smart Kiosks, customers can renew their vehicle licence and driving licence and print the documents instantly. The entire process takes less than a minute,” she added.
Tabby’s technology is utilized by over 40,000 global brands and small businesses to boost growth by offering flexible payment options both online and in-store. The app is currently operational in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait.
“We anticipate the Tabby service to be available at RTA customer service centers starting next week. Additionally, we are exploring the expansion of this service across all digital channels in the near future,” AlShaikh stated.
