Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to conduct its 116th open auction on October 12, featuring a selection of 90 distinctive vehicle license plates, including the coveted AA17 and V96 plates. These special plates range from two to five digits and bear the codes AA, L, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z.
Interested participants can begin registering on October 7, with the bidding event scheduled to take place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel on October 12, commencing at 4pm. The RTA has outlined multiple registration channels, including its official website (www.rta.ae), the Dubai Drive app, and any of its Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Al Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha. Due to limited seating in the bidding hall, priority will be given to pre-registered bidders, although on-site registration will also be available.
It is important to note that the sale of these number plates is subject to a five percent VAT. Each bidder is required to have a traffic file in Dubai and must submit a security cheque of Dh25,000 addressed to the RTA. Additionally, a non-refundable auction fee of Dh120 must be paid by all participants.
