The Ruler of Dubai on Wednesday reprimanded three government employees who were discovered to have obstructed public access to their offices, which contravenes the emirate's ethos of 'open doors for the people'. These three employees 'have established expansive offices for themselves' and 'barred people from approaching or entering them under the pretext that ... government transactions are digital and [online channels can] address people's needs', stated Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. These officers even went so far as to station 'managers, secretaries, and building security at their doors', the Dubai Ruler added. Further details are forthcoming.
