The event season in Dubai shows no signs of slowing down despite the intense heat. With new car launches and significant announcements happening weekly, it's an exciting time for auto enthusiasts. The latest addition to the scene is the Next-Generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, launched by Al-Futtaim Toyota in the UAE, continuing their 70-year legacy of introducing robust 4x4 vehicles to the region.

The new Prado, a compact and lightweight version of its larger sibling, features a retro-inspired boxy design and is built on the Toyota New Global Architecture GA-F platform, enhancing rigidity and handling. It replaces the older engines with a turbocharged 2.4-litre inline 4-cylinder, delivering 267 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also introduces Electric Power Steering (EPS) for the first time.

The Prado's advanced all-terrain system includes a user-friendly four-wheel drive with two differential locks, Crawl Control, and an AUTO mode adaptable to various terrains. Inside, the focus is on safety, durability, and ergonomics, with an open cabin design and modern conveniences like wireless charging and a 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Safety features are comprehensive, including 8 airbags and a 3D-Multi Terrain Monitor. Available in eight exterior colors and two 18-inch alloy wheel designs, prices range from DH199,000 for the base TXR model to Dh254,900 for the Adventure 1st Edition.

In another development, the Dubai Police have expanded their fleet with the Geely Tugella, enhancing their presence in tourist areas and key locations. Geely's CEO expressed pride in the partnership and looks forward to further collaboration in the UAE market.

Lastly, JAC Motors has introduced its first electric vehicle, the JAC E30X, in the UAE, marking a step towards sustainable transportation. The E30X, with its compact and luxurious interior, offers a range of 400 km on a single charge and is available for under Dh100,000.
