In his post on X, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized: "Research and development are pivotal to the success of cities, nations, and economies. Our goal is for Dubai to emerge as one of the leading global cities in supporting researchers and scientists by offering the requisite funding, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks to propel advancements in the research sector."
Expanding on the program, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that this initiative will offer grants and critical resources to bring groundbreaking projects and ambitious ideas to fruition in Dubai. He expressed, "We expect remarkable contributions from academics, researchers, national and international universities, and research institutions from the UAE and around the world."
The Dubai RDI Program delineates Dubai’s highest priorities in research, development, and innovation, overseeing projects, initiatives, and legislations, as well as funding and investment in this domain. It also aims to augment domestic spending on such projects and maximize private sector involvement in launching and funding R&D projects. The program aligns with Dubai’s future vision to generate knowledge and innovation-driven solutions for major local and global challenges, enhancing the productivity of existing sectors by opening new avenues to boost their economic value. Additionally, the Program identifies significant transformative changes and strategies to address them, aiming to bolster the emirate’s preparedness to embrace new sectors that could enhance Dubai’s economic resilience.
