The Dubai Taxi Company has recently added 250 new license plates to its fleet, exclusively for electric vehicles, according to a statement released on Friday.

This strategic move boosts the proportion of eco-friendly vehicles in the company's taxi fleet to 87%, aligning with the UAE's Year of Sustainability. The total number of taxis under the Dubai Taxi Company now stands at 6,210 vehicles. This expansion is projected to generate additional annual revenues of around Dh85 million.

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, highlighted that this initiative aims to broaden DTC’s service offerings both within Dubai and across the region, while also fostering stronger alliances with prominent local and international firms in the smart and sustainable transportation sector.

“This acquisition brings our fleet to over 9,000 vehicles, encompassing taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles, reinforcing DTC’s status as a top provider of comprehensive mobility solutions and aiding in revenue growth and business profitability,” Alfalasi noted.
