The Dubai Traffic Court has sentenced a motorist to two years in prison and imposed a fine of Dh100,000 after a series of serious traffic and drug-related offenses. The court found the accused guilty of consuming psychotropic substances, driving under the influence, and operating an uninsured vehicle on a public road with an expired license.
In addition to the prison sentence and fine, the court also suspended the man's driving license for one year. Following the completion of his prison term, the man will be deported from the UAE, adding to the list of legal consequences he faces.
Counselor Salah Bu Farousha Al Falasi, Senior Advocate General and Head of the Traffic Prosecution, urged all drivers to avoid operating a vehicle under the influence of narcotics and to strictly adhere to traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users in Dubai.
