Telcom operator e& UAE (formerly Etisalat) has introduced a special SIM card for children, enabling parents to monitor their kids' online activities. Available in two flexible monthly plans — Dh49 and Dh99 — e&'s Kids SIM card offers:

- Local call minutes
- 24/7 data access
- Free data for educational content
- Features allowing parents to specify which numbers their children can call

The SIM card can be obtained through e& UAE channels and activated via the e& UAE app. Standard e& SIM card users can also access the new parental control service, which includes:

- Content filtering to block inappropriate websites and apps
- Screen time management for daily device usage limits
- Social media monitoring to track activities on popular platforms
- Detailed online activity reports for reviewing browsing history and app usage
- Cybersecurity measures to protect devices from malware

The parental control service is free with the Kids SIM Card, while other users can subscribe for Dh30 per month, with a one-month free trial available. "Through this, we aim to enhance children’s online experiences by offering an effective solution for parents to manage Internet usage, protect them from online risks, and ensure their wellbeing with an easy-to-use interface and a wide array of features designed for children’s safety," said Khaled Elkhouly, chief consumer officer of e& UAE.

The new e& products were announced at the WeProtect Global Summit 2024 on combating online child exploitation, hosted by the Ministry of Interior from December 4 to 5 in Abu Dhabi.
