We're all exhausted, but a college athlete likely shouldn't be overly fatigued after just half a game. That's why EA Sports College Football 25 is tackling the Wear and Tear mechanic in a new title update that's now live. Furthermore, the patch introduces fresh nickel plays for defenses and rectifies a kickoff exploit that favored the kicking team.
The EA Sports College Football 25 website outlines all the new features in this title update, which went live on September 19. Among the additions is the ability to save custom audibles, along with the previously mentioned adjustments to Wear and Tear. A GameSpot editor observed that they sometimes had to bench their running back in the second half due to the mechanic's severity.
The new defensive plays cater to nickel coverages and blitzing from the edges, as well as formations where three receivers are grouped closely together. The update for EA Sports College Football 25 also aims to put an end to a kickoff exploit that guaranteed the receiving team wouldn't catch the ball. A developer note indicates that this will be closely monitored, with potential further changes in the pipeline.
Last month, an EA Sports College Football 25 patch introduced new offensive shotgun formations and behavioral tweaks to AI opponents. The game has been a massive success since its July launch, reaching 5 million players within its first week. EA Sports College Football 25 also topped the US sales charts in July.
