An earthquake measuring 6.3 hit the Sea of Okhotsk, according to the UAE's National Seismic Network of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Saturday, August 10. The tremor was recorded at 7.28am UAE time.
Additionally, on Friday, August 9, the UAE's National Seismic Network detected a 6.0 magnitude earthquake in New Zealand at 4.22pm UAE time. Meanwhile, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake affected Tokyo and its surrounding areas on the same day, following a government advisory regarding the potential for a large earthquake along the Pacific coast.
The government issued an emergency warning for strong tremors in Tokyo and the prefectures of Kanagawa, Saitama, Yamanashi, and Shizuoka, without any tsunami alert.
