Two earthquakes occurred in the Red Sea region on Saturday, close to the shores of both Saudi Arabia and Sudan, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The initial event was a 4.7-magnitude earthquake that hit approximately 197 kilometers northeast of Sudan's Tokar city. This was subsequently followed by a 4.2-magnitude aftershock, which was detected about 174 kilometers northeast of the same city. Additionally, the Saudi Geological Survey reported that its seismic monitoring stations captured a 4.7-magnitude earthquake in the central part of the Red Sea, 161 kilometers west of Al Lith Governorate in the Makkah Al Mukarramah region.
