The Endowments and Minors' Affairs Trust Foundation in Dubai (AWQAF) has reported that the construction of an eco-friendly endowment mall, designed to fund mosque affairs in the emirate, is approximately 17 percent complete. This initiative is a key component of Dubai's 'Mosques Endowment' campaign, which aims to bolster the Dubai Mosques Endowments Fund, intended to address the financial needs of mosques.

Located in the Al Khawaneej area and covering an area of 165,000 square feet, the mall will house 29 shops, a large shopping center, a medical center, restaurants, and a fitness center. Additionally, it will feature service facilities, roads, garden areas, parking lots, and separate prayer rooms for men and women. The construction cost of the mall is estimated at Dh40 million, with anticipated annual revenues of Dh8 million, which will be allocated to support approximately 50 mosques in Dubai that lack endowment funding.

The mall's construction adheres to international green building standards, incorporating eco-friendly materials and techniques, as well as advanced technologies for energy generation, conservation, and recycling, utilizing solutions such as solar and renewable energy sources. Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of AWQAF Dubai, recently visited the project site to review the progress, accompanied by Khalid Al Thani, Deputy Secretary-General, several division managers from AWQAF Dubai, and the project's engineers.

Al Mutawa urged both government and private entities, institutions, and individuals to support the sustainable endowment project campaign, which sets a pioneering example for the Foundation's projects aimed at supporting mosques in the UAE.
