Emirates' inaugural A350 aircraft has touched down in Dubai. On Wednesday, the ruler of the emirate, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited the airport to inspect the Airbus plane that will commence serving the airline's customers from January onwards. Sheikh Mohammed, who holds the positions of Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE as well as Ruler of Dubai, thoroughly examined the brand-new aircraft's features, strolled through the aisle, experienced the cabin as a passenger, and explored the cockpit, which boasts fewer buttons and more screens.
Following its official maiden voyage from Toulouse to Dubai on Monday, the Emirates A350 is now prepared for service. It will embark on its first commercial flight to Edinburgh on January 3 and subsequently serve eight additional cities across the Middle East and West Asia. Dubai's leading airline is slated to receive a total of 65 A350s over the coming years. What sets the A350 apart is its integration of smart technologies and next-generation onboard products. It is also environmentally friendly, consuming less fuel due to its innovative design, which significantly reduces its carbon footprint. Seventy percent of the A350's airframe is composed of advanced materials, including 53 percent composites, which are lighter and more durable than those employed in previous aircraft designs. The aircraft features three cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers, including 32 next-generation Business Class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 generously spaced Economy Class seats. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum commended the Emirates team for propelling the airline's advancements, positioning it as a contender for top rankings in passenger service quality, comfort, and safety.
