Emirates has today revealed plans to introduce its recently upgraded Boeing 777 aircraft on routes to Zurich and Riyadh beginning October 1, 2024. The airline also intends to deploy the refurbished B777s on its Geneva and Brussels services, marking these as the initial destinations in its network to feature the updated B777 cabins across all flights.

Emirates is set to expand the availability of its popular Premium Economy offering and the newly designed Business Class section on the Boeing 777 in the upcoming weeks and months. The schedule for the enhanced B777s is as follows: Flights EK 85 and EK 86 to Zurich will commence using the retrofitted aircraft from October 1, with the possibility of an earlier start if the refurbishment work finishes ahead of time. Emirates will also launch its improved Boeing 777 with the latest cabins on flights EK 819 and EK 820 to Riyadh on October 1, with a similar potential for early deployment.

This initiative represents the first instance of Emirates' Premium Economy being offered in the Middle East/GCC region. Additionally, from September 22, Geneva will become the first city in Emirates' network to provide Premium Economy seats and newly refreshed Business Class cabins on all flights, utilizing the retrofitted B777 on EK 89 and EK 90. Starting October 9, 2024, Emirates will operate its second retrofitted B777 to Brussels on EK 181 and EK 182 six times weekly.

With an increasing number of cities being served by both the refurbished Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft, Emirates plans to offer Premium Economy in 28 cities by the end of this year. Currently, 25 aircraft have undergone retrofitting, with an additional 17 scheduled for upgrade by December 2024. The four-class Boeing 777 features six or eight First Class suites, 38 Business Class seats arranged in a four-abreast configuration, 24 Premium Economy seats in a 2-4-2 layout, and 260 Economy Class seats.
