Dubai's flagship carrier Emirates has once again set new standards in air travel with the unveiling of its first A350-900 aircraft. This marks the first new aircraft type to join Emirates' fleet since 2008. Passengers can look forward to a range of enhancements, including newly designed and more comfortable seats, extra high ceilings, wider aisles in all classes, 4K-cinematic and ultra-responsive touchscreens, wireless charging, and faster WiFi on board.
The A350-900 features three spacious cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers in 32 business class flat-bed seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 259 economy class seats. The aircraft carries the same iconic golden livery as the Airbus A380 and the popular Boeing 777. The interior design includes illuminated ghaf trees, symbolic of the UAE, and a soothing neutral palette with bronze and gold touches.
Business Class on the A350 features 32 leather lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, dubbed 'S Lounge seats' by Emirates, inspired by the Mercedes S Class. Each seat offers a 20-inch 4K screen for in-flight entertainment, wireless charging, in-seat lighting controls, and improved storage options.
Premium Economy seats offer 6-way adjustable headrests, leg and footrests, a 13.3-inch 4K screen, in-seat charging points, and a side cocktail table. The cabin is configured in a 2-3-2 layout, providing an exclusive and intimate feel.
Economy Class seats have been upgraded with new fabric in elegant light blue and bronze-colored armrests. Each seat features a 13.3-inch 4K screen, and by next year, passengers can expect a brand new 6-way adjustable headrest for enhanced comfort.
The A350 also boasts higher ceilings and wider aisles in all classes, spacious galley areas, and improved storage options. Passengers can enjoy faster WiFi, digital newspapers and magazines, and a high-performance antenna for better connectivity.
Emirates' ice in-flight system offers over 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment, including movies, TV shows, music, podcasts, and audiobooks in multiple languages. The first scheduled commercial A350 flight is set for Edinburgh on January 3, 2025, with plans to serve additional cities in Europe, the GCC, and West Asia.
