15) George Furbank was replaced shortly after scoring a try. If England plan to use him as a fullback, they need to find a way to harness his considerable skills. This autumn has been relatively quiet for him, but it's not entirely his fault.

714) Tommy Freeman delivered the highlight of the match, making a remarkable offload to Furbank just as England's momentum waned. He's made few mistakes this month but hasn't quite set the world on fire.

813) Ollie Lawrence's performance showed no signs of lacking hunger or discipline, as Eddie Jones once suggested. This was his most effective display of the autumn. However, there's a lingering doubt that he might be a flat-track bully.

812) Henry Slade was caught out for Naoto Saito's try—he often gets exposed when the blitz defense fails—but he did show some nice touches. He needs to work on tightening England's defense in the coming months.

711) Ollie Sleightholme is a natural finisher. He's still adjusting to the defensive system but clearly knows where the try-line is.

710) Marcus Smith's hands were delightful for Ben Earl's try. He's been England's brightest light this autumn, though there are still doubts about his ability to lead the team through tough games. He kicked away too much possession in the second half.

79) Jack van Poortvliet was smashed by Japan's Sanaila Waqa early on. He kicked well but neither he nor Ben Spencer have done enough to worry Alex Mitchell.

61) Ellis Genge was much improved, though the opposition was clearly inferior. He needed a strong showing before returning to his club.

72) Jamie George played just 48 minutes but scored two tries, ending a challenging month on a high note. There's much to consider before the Six Nations.

83) Will Stuart made a fine pass for Sleightholme's try. He's been solid all month after a difficult summer in New Zealand. He won't want to see the scrum penalty England conceded again.

74) Maro Itoje was a constant nuisance, as expected. England will need him to step up another level when they face Dublin next.

75) George Martin's performance might be seen as harsh, but these are the kinds of matches he should dominate. The hope is that he develops into England's enforcer, but he's not there yet.

66) Tom Curry had a fine performance, but did he really need to play just two weeks after a nasty concussion? It's concerning that England doesn't seem to understand why leaving him out of a match they would win easily might have been best.

77) Sam Underhill kept his place after a strong showing against South Africa and scored another powerful try. However, he injured himself in the process and had to leave the game after 15 minutes.

68) Ben Earl got England going with a straightforward try. He bulldozed over for another. He's had fewer explosive moments lately and made a couple of glaring errors, but he always gives his all.
