For many fans, escape rooms offer the closest experience to being in a real video-game world. Three years ago, Pine Studio's Escape Simulator brought that experience to homes. Now, Pine Studio is set to do it again with Escape Simulator 2. The announcement trailer showcases three upcoming escape rooms, each not limited to a single environment.

Escape Simulator 2 will allow 1-8 players to immerse themselves in meticulously designed escape rooms, crafted with the assistance of real-life escape-room builders. The trailer features rooms set on a pirate ship connected to a cursed treasure, an eerily empty starship adrift in space, and Count Dracula's castle in Transylvania. Players will need to solve smaller mysteries within each room to uncover the lore behind the experience.

Boris Barbir, co-founder of Pine Studio, highlighted the sequel's technical advancements, including enhanced physics and animations. Despite the trailer's ominous tone, Barbir assured that "it's not a horror game--there are no jump scares or gore." He also committed to continuing support for the original Escape Simulator while providing post-launch expansions for Escape Simulator 2.

Escape Simulator 2 is now available for wishlisting on Steam, though no release date was announced. Meanwhile, the original Escape Simulator is currently on sale on Steam, with a new Mayan DLC expansion offering four additional jungle escape room adventures.
